"Twenty-five years serving soup? The Stock Pot in Montclair (20 Church St.; 973-744-5503) must be doing something right. The chicken noodle is solid and straightforward; it could have used more noodles. The spinach soup, thick as a milkshake, is satisfying and supple. My favorite, though, is the mulligatawny, with chicken, carrots, potatoes and a curry flavor. Wow!"
